Papa whakarongo

Today we learnt a Maori game about this is me, this is you and that is he/she or ko au ,ko koe ,ko ia.

you have get into a group of three and you say ko au as this is me, ko koe the person your talking to and k0 ia the person next to you.

There is another thing you have to say ko wai tena – who is that and responding ko wai tera – over there.

Atoms

Today we did a scientific project.

We had to make an atom with tubes and wires after we did that we saw a guy to some experimentation.

My three favourite experiments were the liquid nitrogen poured on shoes, the circle thing went flying because he put liquid nitrogen on it and the big BANG at the end I also learnt that electrons are on atoms. Here is a picture of an atom that i made.

Angles

Today we had to draw and label angles and lines.

Two things that I learnt was an acute angle is less than 90 degrees.

here is my work.

Past tense

today in Te Reo Maori we’ve been writing in past tense.

we used I, Kua and He.

I, means like more than one,

Example: The dogs are walking dogs with an s

Tua means like just one. Example; the dog is running.

He means A for example A high maunga.

Skittle maths mean median mode and range

For the past two days we’ve been doing Mean median mode and range with skittles with four rounds.

For the 1st round you had to count your skittles by colour and then do the mean median mode and range.

For round two you had to do the same thing but with a buddy.

Then for round three  you had to do the same thing but with another group of two and for the final round you had to add your two groups together by two but one at a time and then do the mean median mode and range.

Here is the link.

Finding the area

Today we have been doing some maths about finding the area.

To find the area you have two times two numbers on the square and if you have another square you have to add them together.

I got all of them right, here is my work below.

Poho Kereru Au!

This term we have  been learning about pauakai the Haast eagle.

I am most proud of this mahi because it shows Maori myths.

My further question and wondering why the Haast eagle is so big.

I enjoyed this mahi especially because we did a play for it.

Do you know the myth of te pauakai?

Here is the video from the play.
